Painting process of Mapa Mudo, acrylic painting by Martim Melo de Vilhena

Is a visual artist who focuses on the alchemical process, natural dyeing and the manipulation of different textiles with an acrylic intervention.

He currently lives and works in Lisbon, Portugal. In 2020, he enrolled in the Drawing I- Initiation course at Nextart, which allowed him to develop skills in representing the three-dimensional reality, in a two-dimensional way on the flat surface of paper, working with lines and stains. He completed an apprenticeship at the Portuguese Serigraphy Center - CPS, with Master Humberto Marçal, who taught him a lot about the intaglio engraving process. The artist is currently developing several original or commissioned works in his studio, while finishing the final year of his bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts at Universidade Lusófona. He has been exhibiting since 2021, and has participated in several collective exhibitions such as Over&Out (2021), Philoxenia (2023).
