| Synopsis
In this work, the figure in the foreground embodies the urgency of expression in a world where imposed silence is structural. Their motionless face, with empty eyes and mouth, suggests a state of suspension, as if they had been waiting for too long for their turn to speak.
The background, populated by stylized plant forms, acts as a containment mesh. These plants/patches, duplicated in patterns and cut by vertical and horizontal lines, evoke grids, limits, mental and social barriers. However, the visual fusion between these elements and the figure's body reveals how the environment shapes and, at the same time, imprisons their identity.
The contrasting colors—the pink of the skin, the blue of the clothes, and the red of the hair—reinforce the tension between the figure's vibrant interior and the environment that silences it. "Lacking Dialogue" is a silent cry, a denunciation of the absence of listening, the saturation of unsaid words, and the violence of the unspoken.
The painting invites reflection on the urgent need to open and create spaces so that unspoken voices can finally emerge.
